About the Emerson SW95 Wall Control

Our replacement for the SW95 restores four fan speeds from a rotary knob, with three knob colors at the wall. You'll find SW95 on the old wall control's label, usually on its side or on the metal strap, once the wall plate is removed. It's a single-pole rotary knob control, and you reuse your existing faceplate with it.

We built this one for fans that shipped with the SW95. Reuse your existing faceplate and pick the knob that matches it.

One fan per control

This is a single-fan control rated at 1.25 A. Controls for two fans or three to four fans are different models, so check how many fans your old control ran.

Keep the neutrals together

The white neutral wires in the box stay connected to each other, just as they were. Only the black supply and the fan wire go to the control.

Before you order

Does not control or dim a light.
Faceplate is not included.

Setup & Pairing

If you've replaced a wall switch before, this will feel familiar.

Shut off the circuit at the breaker panel.
Remove the faceplate and the two 6-32 screws from the old control and keep them.
Wire-nut the control's black lead to the fan's black or red wire, and the other lead to the supply per the instructions. Leave the white neutrals joined together.
Mount the control, reinstall your faceplate, press on the knob that matches it, and restore power.
Set any built-in speed control or pull chain on the fan to high.

Keep the instructions with your fan's manual for next time.
