About the Progress Lighting P2631-30 Wall Control

Replacing a P2631-30 is the quick fix for a fan you can't control from the wall. You get three speeds plus off and light control. Remove the wall plate and look at the body of the old wall control: the P2631-30 number is on its label. The original is a white wall unit, about 4.25 by 2.75 inches, wired into a single-gang box.

If P2631-30 is the number on your old wall control, you're in the right place. Connect it the same way as the old control, then restore power and test.

Uses the fan's receiver

This control sends its commands to the receiver that came with your AirPro fan. It doesn't include a receiver, and it won't work on a fan without one. If the fan's receiver has failed, replace that first; a new wall control can't make up for it.

Dimming the light

The control switches the fan's light on and off and dims it, on fans with a light kit. Use dimmable bulbs for smooth results.

Before you order

Does not include a receiver: your fan must already have the AirPro receiver that came with it.
Not the same as the P2630-30 or P2613-30 slide controls, which are wired for pull-chain fans without a receiver.

Setup & Pairing

Plan on about half an hour, and have a voltage tester handy.

Turn off power at the breaker.
Unscrew the old control from the box and note how each wire was connected.
Wire the new control exactly like the old one, then mount it and add the switch plate.
Restore power and test fan speeds and the light. If the fan does not respond, follow the included instructions to match the control to the fan's receiver.

Tuck the wires neatly into the box so the control sits flat.
