About the Emerson UC9021B Wall Control

Our replacement for the UC9021B restores single-fan rotary speed control with white, almond and light almond knobs at the wall. Remove the wall plate and look at the body of the old wall control: the UC9021B number is on its label. The original is a rotary knob control for one fan, with four speeds and off.

If UC9021B is the number on your old wall control, you're in the right place. It wires in with the breaker off, and the faceplate from your old control goes right back on.

Matching your faceplate

Three knobs come in the box: white, almond and light almond. Since you reuse your old faceplate, pick the knob that matches it and press it onto the shaft.

Keep the old screws

When you remove the old control, save its faceplate and the two 6-32 screws. They go back on with the new control.

Before you order

• Single fan only: the Emerson SW93 (2 fans) and SW96 (3-4 fans) are different controls.
• Does not control or dim a light.

Setup & Pairing

Plan on about half an hour, and have a voltage tester handy.

1. Turn off power at the breaker.
2. Remove the faceplate and the two 6-32 screws from the old control and keep them.
3. Connect the control's black wire to the fan motor's black or red wire with a new wire nut; connect the other control wire to the supply as shown in the instructions. White neutral wires in the box must stay connected together.
4. Mount the control, reinstall your faceplate, press on the knob that matches it, and restore power.
5. If your fan has its own built-in speed control or pull chain, set it to high.

Tuck the wires neatly into the box so the control sits flat.
