About the Hampton Bay YG630BN Remote

The YG630BN is a 52 in. brushed nickel indoor fan, and without its remote you are back to the wall switch. This replacement restores the three speeds, off, light on/off and press-and-hold dimming.

It is made for the Hampton Bay YG630BN. The model label sits on the motor housing, and some labels print it with a dash as YG630-BN. Set four DIP switches to match the receiver and you're done.

One remote per fan

Each fan in the house should have its own remote set to its own code. If two fans share a code, one remote runs both, which surprises people in the next room. Pick a different pattern for each fan and set the matching receiver and remote together.

Trying all 16 codes

If you can't reach the receiver, you can still find the code by trial. Start with all four switches down, test the fan, then work through the combinations one at a time. Keep a written list so you don't repeat a pattern. With only 16 options it rarely takes long.

Before you order

Not a universal remote. It works only with fans that have the matching 304 MHz DIP-switch receiver.

Setup & Pairing

All you need is the new remote, an A23 battery and your old code.

Slide the battery cover off the back of your new remote to uncover the DIP switches.
Copy the pattern of switches 1 through 4 from the old remote, or from the receiver in the canopy (a very small screwdriver opens its box).
Code unknown? Set one pattern, press a button, and move on to the next until the fan reacts. There are 16 in all.
Set switch 5 to off if your light isn't dimmable, which stops flicker.
Insert one 12V A23 battery (sold separately), close the cover, then try each speed and the light button.
If two fans hang near each other, set them to different patterns so they don't respond together.

In the box: Replacement remote for the YG630BN fan, wall mount holder, 2 mounting screws and a programming manual. Battery not included.
