About the Harbor Breeze MZ44BNK3LR Remote

The MZ44BNK3LR is the brushed nickel Mazon 44-in flush mount, Lowe's item 0807421. Hugging the ceiling means no pull chains within reach, so the remote does all the work. If yours is gone, this replacement handles speed and the integrated LED light.

Match the number first: the fan's label should read MZ44BNK3LR. Then pairing is easy.

LED flicker while dimming

If the light flickers or buzzes as you dim it, check the wall switch first. These fans belong on a plain on/off switch, not a full-range wall dimmer, and the remote should do all the dimming. Set the wall switch fully on, then use the light button. If flicker continues at every level, the light kit itself may need attention.

Two blinks, explained

The fan light is your feedback during pairing. Two quick blinks mean the receiver has stored the remote's code. If you see no blink, the pairing window probably closed or the battery isn't making good contact. Recheck the battery, cycle the power and try again straight away.

Before you order

This is a remote only. In Mazon 44-in fans the receiver is the plug-in ITL-F12015A, and it must be working.
A fan that ignores every remote after pairing likely has a failed receiver, which this remote can't fix.

Setup & Pairing

Have the fan's wall switch or breaker within reach before you start.

Put one 12V A23 battery in the new remote, positive end toward the top, and close the cover.
Flip the fan's wall switch off and on again. No switch? Use the breaker.
Within 30 seconds, press and hold the 0 (fan off) button for about 5 seconds, until the fan light blinks twice.
Check the speeds with 3, 2 and 1, and hold the light button to see it dim.
If other fans with learning receivers are nearby, switch them off at the wall while you pair so they don't learn this remote too.
