The YG493OD-PN is a Kensgrove 72 in. DC ceiling fan from Home Decorators Collection, and it depends on its handheld remote for almost everything. This replacement handles speed, reverse, the light and dimmer, the timer and breeze modes in one unit.

If your fan has the Polished Nickel finish, you can match it by the model label on top of the motor housing or on the box: it should read YG493OD-PN. Once it matches, setup takes about a minute. The Kensgrove 72 in. uses a UC786N-12 receiver in the canopy, which this remote is made to pair with. On a patio install, mount the holder where the remote stays dry.

Refit the battery cover and give each button a quick test.

Tip: leave the wall switch on after pairing so the receiver keeps power.
