About the Hampton Bay YG423-BN Remote

The Reagan II YG423-BN pairs a 52-in brushed nickel fan with an LED light. When its remote quits, you are stuck with whatever setting it was left on. Our replacement brings back three speeds, off, and light on/off with dimming.

It is made for the Hampton Bay YG423-BN. Read the model on the motor housing label, then set four DIP switches under the battery cover to the receiver's pattern and test.

Where the receiver sits

The receiver is a small box tucked inside the fan's canopy, the cover that hides the mounting bracket at the ceiling. With the breaker off, loosen the canopy screws and lower it. The receiver's DIP switches are usually visible on its end or under a small cover.

A spare for the bedroom

Two remotes set to the same code will both run the fan. Many people keep one in the wall holder and one on the nightstand. Set the second remote's switches to match the first and you're done.

Before you order

Your fan needs a matching 4-DIP-switch receiver, such as the UC7067FMRX or FAN28R. This remote does not include a receiver.
If your old remote has separate up-light and down-light buttons, compare it with our product photos before you order.

Setup & Pairing

Here is the whole setup, start to finish.

Cut power to the fan at the breaker before you start.
Lower the canopy and find the DIP switch settings on the receiver.
Set the four switches inside the new remote to match the receiver exactly.
Fit the A23 battery and snap the cover shut.
Put the canopy back, restore power and check every button.

No programming is involved; the switches do all the work.
