About the Casablanca C31U546B Receiver

The DC motor in the Casablanca C31U546B cannot run on its own; it needs a receiver to tell it what to do. When that receiver gives out, this replacement restores six speeds, forward and reverse, and light dimming from your remote.

Confirm the motor housing label reads C31U546B before you order. You wire it in where the old one sat, then press Set on your RH787T to pair.

Safe wiring habits

Make each connection firmly and check it with a gentle tug. Keep bare copper inside the connector, and do not let connections rest against sharp metal edges in the canopy.

DC motor fans only

This receiver is built for Casablanca DC-motor fans. AC-motor Casablanca fans and the 4-speed universal receiver systems use different parts, so a DC receiver is not the answer for those fans.

Before you order

Not for AC-motor Casablanca fans or Casablanca 4-speed universal receiver systems.
Not a universal receiver. It is made for Casablanca DC fans that came with the RH787T remote.

Setup & Pairing

Cut power at the breaker panel and confirm the fan is dead.
Drop the canopy so you can see the receiver inside.
Before disconnecting anything, take a photo of how the old receiver is wired. Then disconnect it.
Make the same connections on the new receiver, check each one, and fit it back in the canopy.
Reinstall the canopy and restore power at the breaker.
Within 60 seconds of power returning, press Set on your RH787T. The fan runs in both directions for about 5 minutes, then stops when pairing is done.
Try every button to confirm the fan and light respond.

Tip: a helper on the ground saves trips up and down the ladder.
