About the Harbor Breeze A25-FA0188A Remote

If the A25-FA0188A remote for your Harbor Breeze fan is lost or broken, you lose easy control of the fan and its LED light. This Comfort Direct replacement brings back three fan speeds, dimming and color temperature selection, plus breeze mode, a timer and Home Shield.

The A25-FA0188A number is printed on the back of the original remote or inside its battery compartment. If yours reads A25-FA0188A, this is the one you need. It pairs with the LEARN button, with no DIP switches to set.

Smooth dimming with LED lights

If the light flickers or hums when you dim it, check the wall switch. A fan with a remote receiver should be on a standard on/off switch, not a wall dimmer. Two dimmers fighting each other is a common cause of flicker. If it persists on a plain switch, contact our team.

Why a matched remote?

Universal fan kits usually come with a new receiver that has to be wired into the canopy. This remote pairs to the receiver already in your fan, so there's no wiring and no ladder work beyond reading the label. Three speeds and full light control come back as they were.

Before you order

Only for fans that came with the A25-FA0188A remote. Check the number on the back of your old remote or in the battery compartment.
Not for Harbor Breeze Mac II fans (42468, 42481), which use a different remote, or for remotes with DIP switches or 2 x AAA batteries.
No receiver included, and not a universal remote.

Setup & Pairing

Have the battery in and a pen ready before you start.

Slide off the battery cover and fit a fresh 12V A23 battery.
Turn off power to the fan at the wall switch or breaker for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
Before 30 seconds pass, press LEARN inside the battery compartment with a pen tip.
Watch for the fan or light to respond. No response? Power-cycle again and press LEARN a little sooner.
Check the speeds, light and color buttons, and put the holder up by the switch.

In the box: A25-FA0188A replacement remote, wall mount holder, mounting screws. Battery not included.
