Will This Remote Fit?

This remote is made to replace the 2BB78-ITL-F304C. Check the label on your old remote (often inside the battery cover) — if it reads 2BB78-ITL-F304C, this is the one you need.

About the Harbor Breeze 2BB78-ITL-F304C Remote

Some Harbor Breeze Mazon 44-in fans shipped with a remote marked 2BB78-ITL-F304C in the small print on its back. When that remote is lost, the flush mount fan is hard to reach and harder to control. This replacement learns the Mazon receiver and covers speed and light.

Our team made this replacement for the 2BB78-ITL-F304C. Look at your old remote's label, and if the number matches, you're set.

  • High, medium and low, with a separate off button
  • Dims the Mazon LED down to about 10%
  • Learns the receiver already in your fan
  • Runs on one 12V A23 battery (sold separately)

Keeping the remote clean

Wipe the remote with a dry or barely damp cloth. Skip sprays and household cleaners, which can seep under the buttons. If a button feels sticky, a cotton swab with a little rubbing alcohol around its edge usually frees it. Let everything dry fully before you put the battery back in.

Showing the household

Walk everyone through the buttons once: 3, 2 and 1 for speeds, 0 for off, and the light button that taps on and holds to dim. Most remote trouble in busy homes comes from someone turning the wall switch off, so mention that too.

Before you order

  • If your old Mazon remote has a Learn button, it's an older hugger version with a different pairing method, so check before ordering.
  • It won't pair with receivers from other remote families, so match your number to this page.

Setup & Pairing

  1. Slide the battery door open, fit a 12V A23 with the positive end at the top, then snap the door shut.
  2. Tip: turn off nearby fans before pairing, since their receivers would learn this remote too.
  3. Flip the fan's wall switch off and on again. No switch? Use the breaker.
  4. Within half a minute, hold 0 for about 5 seconds; the fan light blinks twice to show it's paired.
  5. Try each speed, then tap and hold the light button to check on, off and dimming.

In the box: 2BB78-ITL-F304C replacement remote plus a wall mount holder. Add one 12V A23 battery, which isn't included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to point it at the fan?

No. It uses radio, not infrared, so it works from anywhere in a normal room without aiming.

Does it change the fan's direction?

No reverse button is listed for this remote. Direction is set at the fan itself, so check your fan's manual for where the switch is.

Do I need to pair again after changing the battery?

Normally no. If it stops responding after a battery swap, check the battery direction and run the pairing steps once more.

Where should I put the wall holder?

Next to the room's light switch works well, at switch height and away from heat sources like the stove.

Is the battery included?

No. The box holds the remote and its wall holder. You'll need one 12V A23 battery, sold wherever watch and key-fob batteries are.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.

What is your return policy?

You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
