About the Home Decorators Collection 68000 Remote

Your Home Decorators Collection 68000 still runs fine, but without its remote the speed, light and direction are out of reach. Our replacement handset brings back all 9 speeds, reverse, dimming, a fan-off timer and 3 breeze modes for the Windward.

Check the model sticker on top of the motor housing, or the box and manual, and make sure it reads 68000. The remote pairs to the receiver already in your fan, so nothing needs to be rewired.

About the slide switch

Inside the battery compartment there is a small slide switch. The pairing steps call for position 1, so set it there before you start and leave it alone afterward. If pairing will not take, check this switch first, since a bumped switch is a common cause.

Kids, pets and remotes

Small hands and curious pets love remotes. The wall holder keeps the handset off the coffee table and out of reach. If a remote gets chewed or dropped and stops working, check the battery contacts first; a bent contact is often an easy fix.

Setup & Pairing

No DIP switches to set. Follow these steps with the fan in view.

Put two fresh AAA batteries in the remote and leave the battery door off for now.
Check the slide switch next to the batteries and set it to 1.
Turn the fan off at the wall switch or breaker, wait a few seconds, then switch it back on.
Within 30 seconds, press and release the Learn button inside the battery compartment.
The fan answers by flashing its light and starting the blades. If it stays still, try the sequence once more.
Replace the cover, then check the light, a couple of speeds and the timer.

Tip: pair one fan at a time if two fans share a circuit.
