About the Home Decorators Collection YG749-BN-B Remote

If the remote for your YG749-BN-B went missing in a move or simply quit, here is the fix. Our replacement runs the Home Decorators Collection Triplex with nine speeds, reverse, a dimmable light and timer.

Check the model sticker on top of the motor housing, or the box and manual, and make sure it reads YG749-BN-B. There is no wiring involved: the remote learns your fan's existing receiver.

Fan-off timer for 2, 4 or 8 hours
No DIP switches: power-cycle, press Learn, done
Fine speed control: 9 steps plus off

Before you contact us

Have three things ready and we can help faster: the number on your old remote, the fan's model number from its label or manual, and a short note on what the fan does now. A clear photo of the old handset helps too. Reach us at (816) 586-8457 or info@fanremotes.com.

Plus and minus buttons

Speed control on this handset uses plus and minus buttons rather than one key per speed. Each tap moves the fan one step, and holding the button steps through the speeds. It feels different from a three-button remote at first, but it quickly becomes second nature.

Before you order

AC fans and 6-speed DC fans need a different remote.
The RH787T is a different 6-speed remote, and this one does not replace it.

Setup & Pairing

Here is the full pairing sequence.

Load the remote with two AAA batteries and set the cover aside.
Check the slide switch next to the batteries and set it to 1.
Power-cycle the fan: off at the wall switch or breaker, then on again.
Before 30 seconds pass, give the Learn button in the compartment one press.
The fan answers by flashing its light and starting the blades. If it stays still, try the sequence once more.

Tip: if the wall switch only controls a light, use the breaker instead. Tip: mount the wall holder after you confirm the remote works.

In the box: one YG749-BN-B replacement remote plus a wall mount holder and screws (AAA batteries sold separately).
