About the Hunter UC7848T Remote

If your UC7848T has stopped working, this remote takes over with simple 5-switch setup, a 9V battery and a wall holder. UC7848T is the number printed on the back of the original remote or on the sticker inside its battery door. The original has 5 DIP switches inside its battery compartment and runs on a 9V battery.

Not the AAA-style Hunter remotes

Some Hunter remotes run on two AAA batteries and have no DIP switches. Those use a different system. If your old remote looks like that, this one isn't the match.

Count the switches

Before you order, open your old remote and count the DIP switches. Five switches is the version this page covers; a different count means a different remote.

Setup & Pairing

Setup is a matter of matching a few tiny switches; no programming is involved.

Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
Open the old remote's battery compartment and note the positions of its 5 DIP switches (or read them on the fan's receiver).
Set the 5 DIP switches on this remote to exactly the same positions.
Install a 9V battery.
Restore power and test each button.

Take a photo of the final switch pattern and keep it with your fan's manual.
