About the Home Decorators Collection 68682 Remote

Lost the remote for the Home Decorators Collection 68682? This replacement gives you full control of the Altura DC 68 in. again: nine fan speeds, forward and reverse, light on, off and dim, plus a 2, 4 or 8-hour timer.

The 68682 is the Matte White finish version of this fan. Read the model sticker on the motor housing to be sure it matches. The remote pairs to the receiver already in your fan, so nothing needs to be rewired.

Forward and reverse from the handset
Dim the fan light to any comfortable level
Includes a wall holder with mounting screws

Damp locations

Indoor/outdoor fans are rated for damp spots, yet the handset is ordinary electronics. Keep it dry, store it inside during storms, and dry the battery contacts if moisture gets in. Corroded contacts are the most common cause of failure on remotes used outdoors.

Battery care that pays off

Swap both AAA cells at the same time and never mix old with new. If you leave for a long trip or store the remote for the season, take the batteries out so a leaking cell cannot corrode the contacts. Expect a set to last many months with everyday use.

Before you order

Compare your fan's model label with 68682 and read the old remote's buttons: you should see 9-speed plus and minus keys.
It does not work on AC-motor fans or 6-speed DC fans.

Setup & Pairing

No DIP switches to set. Follow these steps with the fan in view.

Slide off the battery cover of the remote, load two AAA batteries, and keep the cover off.
Set the compartment's slide switch to position 1.
Cut power to the fan with the wall switch or breaker, then restore it.
Right away, while the 30-second window is open, press Learn and let go.
A flashing light and moving blades confirm the pairing. If you see neither, run the steps again.

Tip: check the slide switch first if pairing does not take. Tip: if you miss the 30-second window, just cut the power again and repeat.

In the box: 68682 replacement remote and a wall holder with screws. Two AAA batteries needed, not included.
