About the Home Decorators Collection YG908A-MWH Remote

Lost the remote for the Home Decorators Collection YG908A-MWH? This replacement gives you full control of the Celene 62 in. again: nine fan speeds, forward and reverse, light on, off and dim, plus a 2, 4 or 8-hour timer.

The YG908A-MWH is the Matte White finish version of this fan. Read the model sticker on the motor housing to be sure it matches. Setup is a power-cycle and one press of the Learn button. Inside the canopy, the Celene 62 in. has a MR205A-TR receiver; this handset learns its code. The YG908A-MWH can hang on a covered porch, but store the remote out of the rain.

Fan starts by itself?

A fan that turns on or changes speed by itself can be picking up another remote that was paired to it, or it may have a failing receiver. Pairing your new handset again often clears it. If the behavior continues, the receiver in the canopy is the likely cause.

Dead remote or failed receiver?

Put in fresh batteries and run the pairing steps. If the fan light flashes and the blades start, the receiver is fine and your old handset was the problem. If nothing happens after two careful tries, with the wall switch on, the receiver in the canopy may have failed. A new remote cannot fix a dead receiver.

Setup & Pairing

Pairing uses the Learn button and a quick power-cycle.

Open the back of the remote and fit two new AAA batteries, matching the + marks.
Check the slide switch next to the batteries and set it to 1.
Switch the fan's power off, either at the wall or at the breaker panel, and turn it back on.
Quickly, inside the 30-second window, tap the Learn button next to the batteries.
The fan answers by flashing its light and starting the blades. If it stays still, try the sequence once more.
Snap the battery door back on and test speed, light and reverse.

Tip: fresh batteries make the first try far more likely to work.
