About the Home Decorators Collection YG908A-BN Remote

Lost the remote for the Home Decorators Collection YG908A-BN? This replacement gives you full control of the Celene 62 in. again: nine fan speeds, forward and reverse, light on, off and dim, plus a 2, 4 or 8-hour timer.

The YG908A-BN is the Brushed Nickel finish version of this fan. Read the model sticker on the motor housing to be sure it matches. The remote pairs to the receiver already in your fan, so nothing needs to be rewired. The Celene 62 in. uses a MR205A-TR receiver in the canopy, which this remote is made to pair with. The YG908A-BN can hang on a covered porch, but store the remote out of the rain.

Pairs in about a minute with the Learn button
Wall mount in the box, backed by a 1-year warranty
Light on/off and dimming without the wall switch

Smart-home expectations

This is a straightforward radio handset. It does not connect to smart-home hubs, apps or voice assistants. If you want phone control, that requires a different system altogether. For most rooms, a reliable handset on the wall holder is the simplest setup.

A Home Depot house brand

Home Decorators Collection fans are sold through The Home Depot. If you still have the order or the receipt, the fan's model number is often on it, which makes matching a remote much easier. The product page may also show the remote that came in the box.

Before you order

For 9-speed DC fans only. It will not run AC fans or 6-speed DC fans.
It does not replace the RH787T, which is a different 6-speed remote.

Setup & Pairing

Keep the fan in sight so you can see it confirm the pairing.

Open the back of the remote and fit two new AAA batteries, matching the + marks.
Check the slide switch next to the batteries and set it to 1.
Power-cycle the fan: off at the wall switch or breaker, then on again.
Within 30 seconds, press and release the Learn button inside the battery compartment.
Watch for the light to flash and the blades to start turning. That means it has paired; if not, repeat the steps.

Tip: pair one fan at a time if two fans share a circuit. Tip: fresh batteries make the first try far more likely to work.

In the box: YG908A-BN replacement remote and a wall holder with screws. Two AAA batteries needed, not included.
