About the Home Decorators Collection YG825-NI Remote

Running a Home Decorators Collection YG825-NI from the wall switch alone gets old fast. This replacement remote restores 9-speed control, reverse, light dimming and the timer on your Marlon 66 in. fan.

The YG825-NI is the Natural Iron finish version of this fan. Read the model sticker on the motor housing to be sure it matches. Once it matches, setup takes about a minute. With an MR205A-D receiver, the Marlon allows up to a minute for the Learn press.

No need to aim it

This remote sends a radio signal on 433.92 MHz rather than infrared light, so you do not have to point it at the fan. It works from across the room and even from behind furniture. If you notice the range shrinking, weak batteries are the usual reason.

Sleeping with the timer

The fan-off timer can shut the blades down after 2, 4 or 8 hours. Pick a shorter time on cool nights and the longest on warm ones, so the fan runs while you fall asleep and stops before the room gets chilly. It saves energy, and nobody has to get up to turn it off.

Before you order

Make sure the old handset for your YG825-NI had 9 speeds, reverse and a timer.
AC fans and 6-speed DC fans need a different remote.

Setup & Pairing

Have the remote in hand before you touch the power, since timing matters.

Load the remote with two AAA batteries and set the cover aside.
Set the compartment's slide switch to position 1.
Cut power to the fan with the wall switch or breaker, then restore it.
Before 30 seconds pass, give the Learn button in the compartment one press.
A flashing light and moving blades confirm the pairing. If you see neither, run the steps again.
Refit the battery cover and give each button a quick test.
On a Marlon with an MR205A-D receiver, the window to press Learn stretches to one minute.

Tip: stand where you can see the fan before restoring power.
