About the Casablanca RH-786R Receiver

RH-786R is printed on the label of the receiver tucked inside the canopy of Casablanca DC fans such as the Stealth. Drop the canopy and you will see a small boxed module wired between the house supply and the fan. This replacement takes over that job and restores full control from your RH787T.

Check the label on the receiver in your fan's canopy: if it reads RH-786R, this is the one you need. The swap happens at the canopy, then it pairs with your RH787T.

Shut off the breaker

Canopy wiring connects straight to household power. Turn off the breaker for the fan, then try the wall switch to confirm it is dead before you touch anything. Put tape over the breaker so nobody flips it back while you work.

One remote, one fan

If you have two fans nearby that use the same type of receiver, pair each one separately. Leave the other fan switched off at the breaker while you pair, so only the fan you want learns the remote.

Before you order

Only for Casablanca DC fans that use this receiver. Match the number on your old receiver.
Not a universal receiver. It is made for Casablanca DC fans that came with the RH787T remote.

Setup & Pairing

Turn off power to the fan at the breaker, not just the wall switch.
Lower the canopy of your fan to reach the old receiver.
Before disconnecting anything, take a photo of how the old receiver is wired. Then disconnect it.
Make the same connections on the new receiver, check each one, and fit it back in the canopy.
Reinstall the canopy and restore power at the breaker.
Pair it: within 60 seconds of power-up, press Set on the RH787T, then let the fan finish its back-and-forth setup run of about 5 minutes.
Check off, all six speeds, reverse and the light.

Tip: if pairing fails, cycle power again and press Set sooner.

That is normal. The receiver finishes its setup with the DC motor for about 5 minutes, then stops on its own.

Turn the fan's power off and back on, press Set on your RH787T within 60 seconds, then let the fan run in both directions for about 5 minutes until it stops.

How long does pairing take?

About 5 minutes after you press Set, while the fan runs in both directions.
