About the Progress Lighting P2501-143 Wall Control

Progress Lighting sells the 52-inch AirPro ceiling fan in graphite as model P2501-143. This control gives it dimming up to 300 watts and four fan speeds again.

This page covers the Progress Lighting P2501-143 only, so match the sticker and you're set. Installation is a standard hard-wired swap with the breaker off.

  • UL/cUL listed for dry indoor locations
  • 2.75 x 4.25 in, gloss white
  • Four fan speeds plus off (1 is fastest)
  • Dims up to 300 watts of light

Check your fan's motor rating

The motor label on top of the fan housing lists the current it draws in amps. This wall control is rated for 1.25 amps at 120 volts. Compare the two before you install. If the label is hard to reach, the owner's manual usually lists the rating, and our team can help you check.

Why speed 1 is fastest

The original control was laid out with 1 as the fastest speed and 4 as the slowest, and this replacement keeps that layout. It surprises people at first, but it means the familiar slide positions stay the same.

Before you order

  • Not for fans with a remote receiver in the canopy; for remote-ready AirPro fans use the P2631-30 instead.
  • Not for DC-motor fans.

Setup & Pairing

Take a photo of the old wiring before you disconnect anything.

  1. Switch off the breaker that feeds the wall box.
  2. Connect the control to the separate fan and light wires in the wall box as shown in the instructions.
  3. Seat the control in the box, add the switch plate, turn the breaker on and pull the fan chain to high.

Test the circuit with a voltage tester before touching any wire.

In the box: Replacement wall control for the Progress Lighting P2501-143 fan with its switch plate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this replacement wall control for the Progress Lighting P2501-143 fit my ceiling fan?

It fits the 1 model listed under Compatible Models on this page. If your model isn’t listed, call us at (816) 586-8457 and we’ll check for you.

Why does speed 1 run fastest?

That is how the original control is laid out: 1 is fastest, 4 is slowest.

Is a wall plate included?

Yes. A switch plate comes in the box.

Will it work with a fan that has a remote receiver?

No. It's for fans without a receiver in the canopy.

Where do I find my fan's model number?

Look for a sticker on top of the motor housing, or check the owner's manual or the carton. Store order history from Lowe's or Home Depot also lists it.

Why does the light flicker when I dim it?

Usually the bulbs are not dimmable, or different bulb types are mixed in one fixture. This dimmer handles up to 300 watts, including dimmable LEDs.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.

What is your return policy?

You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.
