About the Hampton Bay CHQ8BT9051T Wall Control
A dropped, chewed or simply worn-out CHQ8BT9051T doesn't mean a new fan. This wall control restores HI, MED, LOW and FAN OFF buttons, reverse and up and down light control, with no wiring. You'll usually find CHQ8BT9051T printed after the letters FCC on a sticker on the back, or molded into the plastic beside the battery. Unlike the hard-wired version, this one is battery powered and doesn't connect to house wiring.
If CHQ8BT9051T is the number on your old wall control, you're in the right place. It pairs by matching 4 DIP switches to your fan's receiver, and it runs on a battery, so there's no wiring.
- Battery powered, no wiring needed
- HI, MED, LOW and FAN OFF buttons
- REV button (fan must support remote reverse)
- Up and down light control
No wiring needed
This wall control is battery powered, so it mounts on the wall without running wires to a switch box. That makes it easy to put exactly where you want it, and you don't need an electrician.
Battery or hard-wired?
Buttons and functions match the hard-wired version, but this one runs on a battery instead of replacing a wall switch. If your old control is wired into a wall box, choose the hard-wired version.
Before you order
- Receiver not included: your fan must already have a compatible receiver such as UC7067RC, FAN28R-UD or UC7058GM.
- This is the battery-powered version. If your old control is hard-wired into a wall box, get the hard-wired version instead.
Setup & Pairing
Have a pen tip handy for the DIP switches.
- Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
- Find the 4 DIP switches on your fan's receiver (or on your old remote or wall control).
- Set the 4 DIP switches on this wall control to exactly the same positions.
- Install the battery and restore power to the fan.
- Test each button. If nothing responds, recheck that all 4 switches match.
Take a photo of the switch pattern for next time.
In the box: 1 CHQ8BT9051T battery-powered wall control.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an electrician?
No. It is battery powered and does not connect to house wiring.
Will it work without a receiver in the fan?
No. It sends a signal to a receiver in the fan. The receiver is not included.
How do I pair it?
Set its 4 DIP switches to match the switches on your fan's receiver.
What is the difference from the hard-wired version?
Buttons and functions are the same, but this one runs on a battery instead of replacing a wall switch.
Should the wall switch stay on?
Yes. The receiver in the fan needs power to hear the wall control, so leave the wall switch on and use the wall control for everything.
When will my order ship?
In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.
What is your return policy?
You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.

Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
