About the Harbor Breeze MZ44MBK3LR Remote

Model MZ44MBK3LR is a matte black Mazon 44-in LED flush mount. If the remote broke or walked off, the fan is stuck wherever it was left. Our replacement puts speed and light back under your thumb, and the holder keeps it by the door.

Storing the remote and spare batteries

Heat and moisture are hard on any remote. Keep it out of steamy bathrooms when you can, off sunny windowsills and away from the stove. Store spare A23 batteries in their packaging, somewhere cool and dry and out of reach of small children.

Getting the dimming right

Dimming isn't instant. Hold the light button and the brightness changes gradually through its range over several seconds. Let go as soon as it looks right. A quick tap won't dim at all; it simply toggles the light on or off, so if the level isn't moving, keep holding a little longer.

Setup & Pairing

Start with the battery: one 12V A23, positive end up toward the top of the new remote. Close the cover.
To keep other fans from learning it, leave them powered off at the wall until pairing is done.
Cut power to the fan with the wall switch or breaker for a few seconds, then restore it.
Inside the next 30 seconds, hold down 0 for roughly 5 seconds. The light blinks twice when it has learned the remote.
Test the 3, 2 and 1 speed buttons and the light button to confirm the fan responds.
