About the Harbor Breeze LP8293SLMW Remote

The LP8293SLMW is a 52-inch Harbor Breeze Platinum fan in matte white, with the RECDC8293 receiver built into its motor. When the remote goes missing, the fan is stuck on its last setting. This replacement learns that receiver and gives you every function back.

It's made for the LP8293SLMW and pairs with the RECDC8293 receiver already in the fan. Check the model sticker on the motor housing: if it reads LP8293SLMW, this is the remote you need. Setup is a power cycle and one press of Learn.

Runs on 315 MHz radio from anywhere in the room

Find your fan's model number

Most ceiling fans have a model sticker on top of the motor housing, near the downrod, so bring a step ladder and a flashlight. Turn the fan off and let the blades stop first. The owner's manual and the original box list the model too, and a Lowe's receipt shows the item number.

After a power outage

Storms and surges can make a fan lose track of its remote. If the buttons stop working after the lights flicker, pair again: switch the power off and on, then press Learn on the back of the remote within 30 seconds. It takes about a minute.

Before you order

This is the remote only; the receiver in your fan has to be in working order.

Setup & Pairing

Fit one 12V A23 battery into the LP8293SLMW remote, lining up the + and - ends.
Turn the fan's power off at the wall switch or breaker, then back on. The receiver plays two tones.
Inside the 30-second window, press the Learn button on the remote's back.
Watch for the light to blink 3 times and stay lit while the fan runs on high: you're paired.
Didn't take? Start over at the power step and press Learn sooner after the tones.

Tip: after pairing, test each speed, the light and reverse before you mount the cradle.

In the box: LP8293SLMW replacement remote, wall-mount cradle with mounting screws, and instructions. Battery not included.
