The Minka-Aire F624-CL is the Roto XL 62-inch ceiling fan in coal. A new wall control brings back four speeds plus off from a single slide.

Safety before you start

Shut off the circuit at the breaker panel, not just the wall switch, and put a piece of tape over the breaker so nobody flips it back. Check the wires with a non-contact voltage tester before you touch them. If the box has more than one circuit, test every wire. Work with dry hands and a flashlight.

Big fan, four speeds

A 62-inch fan moves a lot of air even on its lowest setting. Four speeds give you finer steps than a three-speed pull chain, so it's easier to find a setting that's comfortable but not drafty.
