About the Hampton Bay Beckford Remote

Beckford is a 52 in. indoor ceiling fan collection, and once its remote disappears you are stuck with whatever setting it was left on. This replacement brings back high, medium and low speeds, the off button and press-and-hold dimming.

It is made for Beckford fans. Check the label on your old remote or the fan before ordering. On Beckford lights that don't change color, the color temperature button simply does nothing.

About the color button

The color temperature button only does something on color-changing LED lights. If your light has one fixed tone, pressing it simply has no effect. Fan speeds, on/off and dimming still work as normal.

Trying all 16 codes

If you can't reach the receiver, you can still find the code by trial. Start with all four switches down, test the fan, then work through the combinations one at a time. Keep a written list so you don't repeat a pattern. With only 16 options it rarely takes long.

Setup & Pairing

Setup takes a few minutes and needs no programming.

Turn the new remote over and take off the battery door to reach the code switches.
Set switches 1 to 4 to the same up/down pattern as your old remote.
If neither the old remote nor the receiver is available, test each of the 16 patterns in turn.
Add the A23 battery, replace the cover and run through high, medium, low, off and the light.
Set switch 5 to off if your light isn't dimmable, which stops flicker.

In the box: Beckford replacement remote; wall mount holder; two mounting screws; programming manual. Add your own 12V A23 battery.

Will the color button do anything on my fan?

Only if the light is a color-changing LED. On a single-tone light it has no effect, while speeds, on/off and dimming work as usual.

What battery does the Beckford remote take?

One 12V A23 battery. It is not included, so grab one before the remote arrives.

Will one remote run two of my fans?

Only if both fans share the same DIP code. Give each fan and its remote its own code so each remote runs just one fan.

Is this an original Hampton Bay remote?

No. It is a Comfort Direct replacement remote, built to run your fan's speeds and light the way the original did, and backed by our 1-year warranty.

Can I set it up without my old remote?

Yes. Copy the switch pattern from the receiver in the fan canopy, which a very small screwdriver opens. If you can't reach it, try the 16 codes one at a time until the fan responds.
