About the Casablanca 7861LM-09 Receiver

7861LM-09 is a number printed on the receiver label in some Casablanca DC fans. If you lowered the canopy and found it on the module inside, this is your replacement. It wires in the same way and pairs with the RH787T remote for six speeds, reverse and dimming.

Check the label on the receiver in your fan's canopy: if it reads 7861LM-09, this is the one you need. You wire it in where the old one sat, then press Set on your RH787T to pair.

Working from a ladder

You will have your arms overhead for a while. Use a sturdy ladder that lets you reach the canopy without stretching, and ask a helper to hand you tools. Keep screws in a cup so none disappear into the carpet.

Reverse through the seasons

In summer, run the blades counterclockwise, looking up, for a cooling downdraft. In winter, switch to clockwise on a low speed to push warm air down the walls. The receiver handles direction changes from the remote, so there is no switch to reach.

Before you order

Not for AC-motor Casablanca fans or Casablanca 4-speed universal receiver systems.
Have the fan's power off at the breaker before you lower the canopy.

Setup & Pairing

Cut power at the breaker panel and confirm the fan is dead.
Lower the canopy of your fan to reach the old receiver.
Before disconnecting anything, take a photo of how the old receiver is wired. Then disconnect it.
Wire the new receiver exactly as the old one was wired and fold it back into the canopy.
Raise the canopy, tighten its screws and turn the breaker back on.
Press the Set button on your RH787T within 60 seconds of restoring power, and wait about 5 minutes while the fan runs both ways.
Try every button to confirm the fan and light respond.

Tip: pair with any other nearby fan switched off.
