About the Hampton Bay AL60-OBB Receiver

A Miramar II 60-in fan that sticks on one speed or ignores its remote usually has a worn receiver. This Comfort Direct replacement restores all three speeds, off and downlight control with dimming.

This page is for the Hampton Bay AL60-OBB (Miramar II 60-in). If the label on your fan shows AL60-OBB, you're in the right place. Set four DIP switches to match your remote, then connect it with the included wire nuts.

Photograph the old wiring

Before you undo a single wire nut, take a clear photo of how the old receiver is connected. Note which house wire goes to which lead and how the light wires are joined. That one picture makes the new connections quick and takes the guesswork out of the job.

Downlight only, or up and down?

This receiver runs one light circuit. If your fan has only a downlight, or no light kit at all, it is a match. If the fan also has an uplight, or the old receiver had separate uplight and downlight leads, you need the up and down light version instead.

Before you order

This receiver is downlight-only. If your fan has an uplight too, choose our up and down light receiver instead.
Not for DC-motor fans or CFL bulbs, and it doesn't add reverse.

Setup & Pairing

Here's the install from start to finish.

Cut power at the breaker before you loosen the canopy.
Set the receiver's four DIP switches to the same pattern as the switches in your remote's battery compartment (or on your wall control). They ship set to a default position, so don't skip this step.
Wire it in with the included nuts: ground to ground, AC-in black and white to the house wires, motor white and black to the fan, and the blue light lead to the blue light wire.
Keep the antenna flat on top as you tuck the receiver and wires into the box.
Reinstall the canopy, turn the breaker back on and test each speed and the light.

Will it work with a timer or thermostat remote?

No. Fans with timer or thermostat remotes need a thermostatic receiver. This one is for standard speed and light remotes.
