About the Harbor Breeze BRD48MBK6LR Receiver

Model BRD48MBK6LR is the 48-in Bradbury fan from Harbor Breeze with a matte black finish and built-in LED light. It was sold at Lowe's as item 4057329. The receiver is the small box in the canopy that turns remote signals into fan and light commands, and it is the part that usually quits first. This replacement connects with wire nuts and restores three speeds, off and a dimmable light.

The model label on top of the motor housing should read BRD48MBK6LR; if it does, you are in the right place. It pairs with learning-code remotes like our TR214D.

Avoid a wall dimmer on the fan circuit

The receiver does the dimming for you. A wall dimmer or speed control on the same circuit can starve the receiver of steady power and cause odd behavior. If one is installed, a qualified electrician can swap it for a standard on/off switch.

Before you order

It pairs only with learning-code remotes such as our TR214D. DIP-switch remotes will not pair.

Setup & Pairing

You need a ladder, a screwdriver and a voltage tester.

Shut off the fan circuit at the breaker before you start.
Lower the canopy and disconnect the old receiver, noting which wire went where.
Make the same connections with the new receiver, tug-test each wire nut and fold the wires in neatly.
Turn off power to any other nearby fans with learning receivers so they do not pair at the same time.
With the remote ready, turn the power on and hold 0 (fan off) within about 30 seconds until you see the light blink twice.
Run all three speeds and try the light and dimming.

Tip: keep the old receiver until the new one is working.

Pair each fan on its own with the other fan powered off, and keep one remote per fan. Labeling the remotes by room helps.

My remote has DIP switches. Will it pair?

No. This receiver uses learning-code pairing, so a remote with a row of DIP switches will not pair with it.

How close do I need to be for the remote to work?

Within a normal room it should respond. If you have to stand right under the fan, try a fresh remote battery first.

Do I have to take the fan down?

No. You only lower the canopy at the ceiling to reach the receiver. The fan stays on its bracket.
