About the Harbor Breeze MR161C Receiver

The original Harbor Breeze MR161C receiver is discontinued, and when it fails your remote stops running the fan and light. Our MR161C replacement connects with wire nuts and brings back three fan speeds plus off and a dimmable light.

It is made for Harbor Breeze fans that came with the MR161C receiver, including the Beach Creek, Bradbury and Reidsport. Check the label on your old receiver: if it reads MR161C, this is the one you need. It works with our TR214D learning-code remote. Pairing is easy: power the fan on, then hold the remote's 0 button.

Before you order

• This is not the Summersville receiver. Harbor Breeze Summersville fans use the MRAC04S1M-LD-F0 receiver with the 2AQZU-18052 remote.
• Fans that came with a plug-in receiver, such as the Mazon 44-in, have a square plug instead of wire-nut leads. Contact us if your old receiver has a plug.
• Pairs with learning-code remotes like our TR214D. If your remote uses DIP switches, it won't pair.

Setup & Pairing

1. Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
2. Disconnect the old receiver, noting which wire went where.
3. Connect the new MR161C receiver with wire nuts the same way the old one was connected.
4. Turn off power to any other nearby Harbor Breeze fans with learning receivers so they don't pair at the same time.
5. Turn the breaker back on. Within about 30 seconds, press and hold the remote's 0 (fan off) button until the light blinks twice.
6. Test each fan speed and the light.
