About the Hampton Bay 68-ATR Remote

Your Hampton Bay 68-ATR is the 68-inch Altura ceiling fan. If the original remote broke or disappeared, this one brings back dimming, reverse and three fan speeds from one remote. Set its DIP switches to match the fan's receiver and it runs the Altura right away.

Owners of the 68-ATR can order with confidence once the model sticker matches. Set the DIP switches to match your receiver and it's ready, with no programming.

  • One 12V A23 battery, sold separately
  • Low, medium and high plus off
  • Changes blade direction from the remote
  • Light on/off, press and hold to dim

Keeping it clean

Wipe the remote with a soft cloth that is barely damp. Never spray cleaner straight onto it, because liquid can seep under the buttons. Take the battery out first if you're cleaning more than a smudge, and let it dry fully before you put the battery back.

The 434 at the end

Two look-alike remote systems were used on these fans. The one this remote matches runs at 433.9 MHz, and its labels end in 434. A UC7222T or CHQ7222T with no 434 at the end runs at 304 MHz and won't work with this one. Check the end of the number before you order.

Before you order

  • If your old remote shows a number other than the one on this page, contact us before you order.
  • Not for fans that use the 304 MHz UC7222T or CHQ7222T remote (no 434 at the end). That is a different remote.

Setup & Pairing

If your old remote is still around, setup takes a couple of minutes.

  1. Switch off the fan at the wall switch or breaker.
  2. Open the battery compartment on your old remote, or on the fan's receiver, and note the DIP switch positions.
  3. Copy those positions onto the switches inside this remote.
  4. Put in a 12V A23 battery, turn the power back on and test the fan and light.

Once it works, mount the wall bracket and keep the remote on it between uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this replacement remote for the Hampton Bay 68-ATR fit my ceiling fan?

It fits the 1 model listed under Compatible Models on this page. If your model isn’t listed, call us at (816) 586-8457 and we’ll check for you.

Does it need programming?

No. Set the DIP switches in the battery compartment to match your receiver, and it is ready to use.

Is the battery included?

No. It takes a 12V A23, which you'll find at hardware stores and pharmacies.

Does it dim the light?

Yes. Press the light button to turn it on or off, and press and hold to dim.

What should I do with my old remote?

Keep it until the new one is working, since its label and settings are handy to compare. Then take out the battery and recycle it.

Can one remote run two fans?

We recommend one remote per fan. Give each fan its own so one button never moves both, and label each one with its room.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.

What is your return policy?

You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
