About the Home Decorators Collection 59600 Remote

The 59600 is a 60 in. color-changing LED ceiling fan, big enough for a family room, and its remote does a lot of work. This replacement runs three speeds, off, dimming and color temperature.

This remote is for the Home Decorators Collection 59600. Confirm 59600 on the fan label or original box and compare your old remote with the photos. Pairing uses four DIP switches with 16 codes.

How the DIP code works

Inside the battery compartment sit four tiny on/off switches. Their up/down pattern is a code, and the receiver in the fan only listens to a remote sending the code it is set to. Four switches give 16 possible patterns. Match the pattern and the fan answers; miss by one switch and it ignores you.

Labeling several fans

Have several of these fans? Put a small sticker inside each battery cover noting the room and the switch pattern, such as patio, up-down-down-up. When a battery dies or a remote ends up in the wrong room, you will know at once which fan it belongs to.

Setup & Pairing

Slide the battery cover off the back of your new remote to uncover the DIP switches.
Copy the pattern of switches 1 through 4 from the old remote, or from the receiver in the canopy (a very small screwdriver opens its box).
Code unknown? Set one pattern, press a button, and move on to the next until the fan reacts. There are 16 in all.
Set switch 5 to off if your light isn't dimmable, which stops flicker.
Insert one 12V A23 battery (sold separately), close the cover, then try each speed and the light button.
If two fans hang near each other, set them to different patterns so they don't respond together.

In the box: Replacement remote for the 59600 fan, wall mount holder, 2 mounting screws and a programming manual. Battery not included.
