About the Hampton Bay 58929 Remote

Black with timber gray is one of the darker finishes in this Hampton Bay 54 in. line, and the 58929 is rated for indoor and outdoor spots. Our replacement gives you its three speeds, off, light on/off and dimming again.

It is made for the Hampton Bay 58929. Confirm the number on the fan's label or carton, then match four DIP switches to the receiver and test.

Dimming with press and hold

Tap the light button once to switch the light on or off. To dim, hold the button down and watch the light fade, then let go when the brightness looks right. Short holds are easier to control than long ones if you only want a slight change.

If the fan doesn't answer right away

The receiver only listens when it has power, so make sure the wall switch is on and the breaker is reset. Press the light button first; it gives the quickest sign that the codes match. If nothing happens, recheck each of the four switches against your written pattern.

Before you order

Receiver not included, so it won't add remote control to a fan that doesn't already have one.

Setup & Pairing

Slide the battery cover off the back of your new remote to uncover the DIP switches.
Copy the pattern of switches 1 through 4 from the old remote, or from the receiver in the canopy (a very small screwdriver opens its box).
If neither the old remote nor the receiver is available, test each of the 16 patterns in turn.
Check switch 5: on allows dimming, off is for lights that can't dim.
Fit a 12V A23 battery, snap the cover back on and test the fan and the light.
For a second fan in the house, choose a separate code so each remote runs only its own fan.

In the box: Replacement remote for the 58929 fan, a wall holder with 2 screws, and the programming manual. The A23 battery is sold separately.
