Will This Remote Fit?
This remote is made to replace the 40047. Check the label on your old remote (often inside the battery cover) — if it reads 40047, this is the one you need.

About the Harbor Breeze 40047 Remote
If you searched for 40047, you probably have a Harbor Breeze fan and a remote that's gone missing or quit. This replacement covers three speeds, off and a dimmable light on 315 MHz, and it learns the receiver already in a compatible fan.
Take a look at your old remote first. If the layout matches, setup is a power cycle and a press of Learn. If you're unsure, send us your fan's model number at (816) 586-8457 or info@fanremotes.com and we'll check the fit.
- Powered by one A23 12-volt cell, not in the box
- Light on/off and dimming, with a D/CFL switch for bulbs that can't dim
- Works on 315 MHz radio from anywhere in the room
After a power outage
Outages and surges can make a fan forget its remote. If the buttons stop working after the lights flicker, pair again: cycle the fan's power, then hold the Learn button for about 5 seconds within 30 seconds. It takes about a minute and needs no tools.
Label your breaker
Pairing is easier when you know which breaker or switch feeds the fan. Take a minute to mark it on the panel. Then cutting power to nearby fans, or cycling this one, is quick, and you won't reset clocks around the whole house.
Before you order
- This is not a universal remote. Match it to your old remote's label or your fan's model sticker first.
- This is the remote only; the receiver in your fan has to be in working order.
Setup & Pairing
- Put one 12V A23 battery in the remote, matching the + and - marks.
- Turn off any other fans with this style of remote, so only this fan hears the pairing signal.
- Switch the fan off at its wall switch or breaker, wait a few seconds, and restore power.
- Inside 30 seconds of power returning, keep the Learn button pressed for about 5 seconds.
- The fan starts on low with the light off once it has learned the remote. If not, cycle the power and repeat.
In the box: one replacement remote, a wall holder plus screws, and printed instructions. The A23 battery is sold separately.
