About the Aire 04622 Remote

A broken remote turns a Hi-Wind 04622 into a fan you have to get up for. This replacement gets it back on a button: three speeds, off, light on/off and dimming.

We made this page for the Aire 04622. Confirm the number on the motor housing sticker or in the owner's manual, then copy the receiver's four-switch code onto the remote.

Dimming and bulb choice

The remote dims the light, but only bulbs that can dim will follow along. Incandescent bulbs and LED bulbs marked dimmable work well. Non-dimmable LED or CFL bulbs may flicker, buzz or simply stay at full brightness.

How the four-switch code works

Your fan's receiver and this remote each have a row of four tiny switches. Set them to the same up/down pattern and the receiver answers this remote. Four switches allow 16 patterns, which lets fans in neighboring rooms run on different codes.

Before you order

For AC-motor fans only. It will not run DC-motor, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi ceiling fans.
If your old remote has separate up-light and down-light buttons, compare it with our product photos before you order.

Setup & Pairing

Here is the whole setup, start to finish.

Cut power to the fan at the breaker before you start.
Lower the canopy and find the DIP switch settings on the receiver.
Set the four switches inside the new remote to match the receiver exactly.
Restore power, then test the fan speeds and dimming.
Add a fresh 12V A23 battery.

Still have the old remote? Copy its switches instead and you can skip the canopy steps.
