About the Emerson SR400 Remote Kit

Our replacement for the SR400 brings back four speeds and full-range dimming from a handheld remote and canopy receiver, so you can run your Emerson fan from across the room again. Check the label on your old handheld or on the receiver in the canopy for SR400. Because the receiver is included, this kit doesn't depend on the receiver already in your fan.

If SR400 is the number on your old remote and receiver kit, you're in the right place. The remote and receiver are set up together using the included instructions.

A complete kit

You get both the handheld remote and the receiver, so the kit works even if your old receiver has failed. The receiver mounts in the fan canopy, on flat ceilings only.

Flat ceilings only

The canopy receiver isn't rated for sloped-ceiling installs. If your fan hangs from a vaulted ceiling, this kit isn't the right fit.

Before you order

This kit does not reverse the fan. Use the direction switch on the fan motor.
The receiver is not for fans mounted on sloped ceilings.

Setup & Pairing

Plan on a ladder and about half an hour.

Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
Install the receiver in the fan canopy, following the wiring guide in the box.
Insert the two AAA batteries into the remote and set it up with the receiver as shown in the instructions.
Restore power and test the fan speeds and light.

Keep the fan's own pull chain on high so the receiver can reach every speed.

In the box: SR400 kit handheld remote, canopy-mount receiver, 2 AAA batteries, wall bracket and mounting hardware, and instructions.

Will this fit my fan?

It's a full remote and receiver kit for Emerson and Kathy Ireland ceiling fans. Because the receiver is included, it doesn't depend on the receiver already in your fan, as long as the fan is on a flat ceiling.

Does it reverse the fan?

No. Change direction with the switch on the fan motor.

Will it work on a sloped ceiling?

No. The canopy receiver is not rated for sloped-ceiling installs.

Are batteries included?

Yes. The remote comes with two AAA batteries.

Why does the light flicker when I dim it?

Usually the bulbs are not dimmable, or different bulb types are mixed in one fixture. The dimmer is made for incandescent bulbs up to 250 W, so dimmable LEDs may flicker or not dim smoothly.

When will my order ship?
