About the Home Decorators Collection 54729 Remote

Oil rubbed bronze gives the Mercer 54729 a warm, darker look, and its integrated LED light dims from the remote. If that remote is gone, this replacement restores high, medium, low, off and the dimmable light.

It is made for the Home Decorators Collection 54729. Read the model on the motor housing label or in the manual, then match four DIP switches to the receiver.

Why the breaker comes first

Turning off the wall switch isn't enough when you open the canopy, since some ceiling boxes stay live. Switch off the breaker for the fan's circuit, check that the fan and light are dead, and only then lower the canopy to read the receiver.

How the four-switch code works

Your fan's receiver and this remote each have a row of four tiny switches. Set them to the same up/down pattern and the receiver answers this remote. Four switches allow 16 patterns, which lets fans in neighboring rooms run on different codes.

Before you order

Your fan needs a matching 4-DIP-switch receiver, such as the UC7067FMRX or FAN28R. This remote does not include a receiver.
If your old remote has separate up-light and down-light buttons, compare it with our product photos before you order.

Setup & Pairing

Setup takes a few minutes with a screwdriver and a step ladder.

Switch off the fan's circuit at the breaker panel.
Open the canopy and note the up/down pattern on the receiver's switches.
Match the remote's four DIP switches to the receiver, one switch at a time.
Restore power and test each speed and the light.
Insert one 12V A23 battery (not included).

No programming is involved; the switches do all the work.
