The matte black 59609 is a 60 in. fan with a color-changing LED light. When the remote is lost, so are the tone settings. This replacement covers high, medium, low, off, dimming and the color temperature button.

The model number is printed on a sticker on top of the motor housing, just below the downrod or canopy. You will usually need a step ladder and a flashlight to read it. The original carton and the owner's manual list it too, so check the garage or the paperwork drawer before you climb.

Choosing a light tone

This fan's light offers 2700K, 3000K and 5000K. The warm 2700K setting suits bedrooms and evenings in the living room. 5000K is cool and crisp, closer to daylight, which helps in a kitchen or home office. 3000K sits in between and works almost anywhere.

Setup & Pairing

Open the battery compartment on the new remote; the small switch bank sits inside.
Check switch 5: on allows dimming, off is for lights that can't dim.
Line up switches 1 to 4 with the code from your old remote, flipping each one until the two match exactly.
If neither the old remote nor the receiver is available, test each of the 16 patterns in turn.
Add the A23 battery, replace the cover and run through high, medium, low, off and the light.

In the box: Replacement remote for the 59609 fan, wall mount holder, 2 mounting screws and a programming manual. Battery not included.
