About the Harbor Breeze 0698388 Remote

Lowe's item 0698388 is a 60-inch Harbor Breeze Saratoga fan. This replacement remote restores all six speeds, Natural Breeze, reverse, the light and dimmer, and the 2, 4 or 8-hour sleep timer.

It's made for fans sold as item 0698388. The number is on the fan's box, the receipt or the manual. Pairing with the receiver is a power cycle and a press of the Learn button on the back.

Dimming LED bulbs

Press and hold the light button to dim. Smooth dimming needs bulbs labeled dimmable; standard LED and CFL bulbs that aren't rated for dimming will only switch on and off, and some may flicker. If your light buzzes at low levels, a dimmable bulb is usually the fix.

Why it doesn't need aiming

The remote talks to the fan on 315 MHz radio, not infrared. You don't need a clear line of sight, so it works from the couch, the bed, or around a corner in an open room. Thick walls or metal cabinets between you and the fan can shorten the range.

Before you order

The Saratoga II (model 00581) uses a different remote, the A25-TX007, and this one won't work with it.
This is the remote only; the receiver in your fan has to be in working order.

Setup & Pairing

Load a 12V A23 battery (sold separately) into the remote, checking the polarity marks.
Flip the fan's circuit off and on. When it powers up, the receiver sounds two tones.
Before 30 seconds pass, press Learn on the back of the remote.
Watch for the light to blink 3 times and stay lit while the fan runs on high: you're paired.
Didn't take? Start over at the power step and press Learn sooner after the tones.

Tip: set the sleep timer once to learn how it works before bedtime.

In the box: replacement remote, mounting cradle with screws, instructions. Add one A23 battery.
