The YG825-BN is a Marlon 66 in. DC ceiling fan from Home Decorators Collection, and it depends on its handheld remote for almost everything. This replacement handles speed, reverse, the light and dimmer, the timer and breeze modes in one unit.

Check that the model label reads YG825-BN; this listing is the Brushed Nickel finish version of the fan. There is no wiring involved: the remote learns your fan's existing receiver. Marlon fans with an MR205A-D receiver give you a longer, one-minute pairing window.

Is your fan a 9-speed DC model?

Check the owner's manual or the old remote itself. A 9-speed DC remote has plus and minus speed buttons, a reverse button, timer buttons and breeze control, not three fixed speed keys. The manual normally says DC motor in the specifications. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the old handset.

Breaker or wall switch?

Either one works for the power-off, power-on step, as long as it actually cuts power to the fan. A wall switch is easier if it controls the fan circuit. If the fan is wired so the switch only controls a light, use the breaker instead. Wait a few seconds before restoring power.

Setup & Pairing

Setup takes about a minute and needs no tools.

Slide off the battery cover of the remote, load two AAA batteries, and keep the cover off.
Move the small slide switch inside the compartment to position 1.
Turn the fan off at the wall switch or breaker, wait a few seconds, then switch it back on.
Within 30 seconds, press and release the Learn button inside the battery compartment.
Success looks like a light flash plus turning blades. Otherwise, repeat from the top.
Marlon fans with an MR205A-D receiver give you up to one minute after power returns instead of 30 seconds.

Tip: stand where you can see the fan before restoring power.

In the box: one YG825-BN replacement remote plus a wall mount holder and screws (AAA batteries sold separately).
