About the Home Decorators Collection YG749-PN Remote

Bring your Home Decorators Collection YG749-PN back under control. This 9-speed replacement remote runs the Triplex fan with reverse, dimming, breeze modes and a fan-off timer, and it comes with a wall holder.

Check the model sticker on top of the motor housing, or the box and manual, and make sure it reads YG749-PN. There is no wiring involved: the remote learns your fan's existing receiver.

Start with fresh batteries

Weak cells cause most remote complaints. This handset runs on two AAA batteries, which are not in the box, so pick up a fresh pair of name-brand alkalines before you pair it. Old or mixed batteries can let the indicator blink while the signal is too weak to reach the fan.

DC motors only

This handset talks to receivers built for 9-speed DC-motor fans. It cannot run AC-motor fans or 6-speed DC fans, because those use different receivers and signals. If your fan manual mentions a three-speed pull chain or a 6-speed remote, this is not the right match for it.

Setup & Pairing

Install two AAA cells in the remote; you will need the open compartment for the next steps.
Set the compartment's slide switch to position 1.
Switch the fan's power off, either at the wall or at the breaker panel, and turn it back on.
Right away, while the 30-second window is open, press Learn and let go.
When the light flashes and the blades begin to spin, pairing is complete. No response? Start over from the power-cycle step.
Refit the battery cover and give each button a quick test.

Tip: if you miss the 30-second window, just cut the power again and repeat.

In the box: YG749-PN replacement remote and a wall holder with screws. Two AAA batteries needed, not included.
