Bring your Home Decorators Collection YG493A-WH back under control. This 9-speed replacement remote runs the Kensgrove 54 in. fan with reverse, dimming, breeze modes and a fan-off timer, and it comes with a wall holder.

The YG493A-WH is the White finish version of this fan. Read the model sticker on the motor housing to be sure it matches. The remote pairs to the receiver already in your fan, so nothing needs to be rewired. This handset pairs with the UC789N-07 receiver found in the Kensgrove 54 in..

Holiday and guest rooms

Rooms that sit empty for weeks still need a working remote when guests arrive. Store the handset on its holder, take the batteries out if the room will be empty for months, and test it a day ahead. The timer is handy for guests unfamiliar with the controls.

When the receiver is the problem

If a fresh, correctly paired remote still cannot control the fan, or the fan acts on its own, the receiver may be failing. The receiver sits in the canopy at the ceiling. Replacing it is a wiring job, so turn off the breaker first or call an electrician if you are not comfortable.

Before you order

AC fans and 6-speed DC fans need a different remote.
The RH787T is a different 6-speed remote, and this one does not replace it.

Setup & Pairing

Open the back of the remote and fit two new AAA batteries, matching the + marks.
Move the small slide switch inside the compartment to position 1.
Turn the fan off at the wall switch or breaker, wait a few seconds, then switch it back on.
Press the Learn button once, within 30 seconds of power coming back.
The fan answers by flashing its light and starting the blades. If it stays still, try the sequence once more.

Tip: leave the wall switch on after pairing so the receiver keeps power.
