The TG44MBK3D1RC is the matte black Beach Creek 44-in. Kids and pets are hard on remotes, and a chewed or dropped one often stops working without warning. Ours gives the fan back its speeds and lets you dim the light.

Choosing a speed

High on button 3 suits hot afternoons and rooms full of people. Medium on 2 is a comfortable everyday setting. Low on 1 is quiet enough for sleeping and gentle enough for winter air circulation. Press 0 when you leave the room, since a fan cools people, not empty spaces.

Showing the household

Walk everyone through the buttons once: 3, 2 and 1 for speeds, 0 for off, and the light button that taps on and holds to dim. Most remote trouble in busy homes comes from someone turning the wall switch off, so mention that too.

Before you order

You'll need one 12V A23 battery. It isn't in the box.
A fan that ignores every remote after pairing likely has a failed receiver, which this remote can't fix.

Setup & Pairing

Put one 12V A23 battery in the new remote, positive end toward the top, and close the cover.
Turn the power to the fan off, then on, using the wall switch or the circuit breaker.
Hold the 0 key for about 5 seconds within 30 seconds of power returning. Two blinks from the light confirm pairing.
Check the speeds with 3, 2 and 1, and hold the light button to see it dim.
Pair with any other remote-controlled fans turned off at the wall, so they don't pick up this remote as well.
