When your CHQ8BT7053T goes missing or quits, the fan is stuck on its last setting. This 5-switch replacement brings back low, medium and high, reverse and light dimming, set up with 5 DIP switches. You'll usually find CHQ8BT7053T printed after the letters FCC on a sticker on the back, or molded into the plastic beside the battery. Count the DIP switches in your old remote's battery compartment: this is the 5-switch version.

Check the label on your old remote: if it reads CHQ8BT7053T and has 5 switches, this is the one you need. Copy the 5 DIP switch positions from your old remote or receiver, add a 9V battery and test.

This remote comes in two versions that share one number: one with 4 DIP switches and one with 5. This page is the 5-switch version. Open your old remote's battery cover and count before you order; the counts have to match for the codes to line up.

Setup & Pairing

Setup is a matter of matching a few tiny switches; no programming is involved.

Turn off power to the fan at the breaker.
Open the old remote's battery compartment and note the positions of its 5 DIP switches (or read them on the fan's receiver).
Set the 5 DIP switches on this remote to exactly the same positions.
Install a 9V battery.
Restore power and test each button.

Take a photo of the final switch pattern and keep it with your fan's manual.
