Will This Remote Fit?
This remote is made to replace the TRC100L. Check the label on your old remote (often inside the battery cover) — if it reads TRC100L, this is the one you need.

About the Hampton Bay TRC100L Remote
Our replacement for the TRC100L brings back thermostat control, three speeds and a Fan Timer key, so you can run your Hampton Bay fan from across the room again. Slide the battery cover off your old remote and you'll typically find TRC100L on the label there or on the back. This is the timer version, so the old remote should show a Fan Timer key, not For/Rev.
Match the number first: this page is for the TRC100L. No programming: set the switches to match the receiver.
- 4 DIP switches, 16 codes
- Wall bracket with 2 screws
- Runs on four AAA batteries (not included)
- Fan Timer key, no reverse key
How Fan Auto works
Set a target temperature and Fan Auto takes over. Below that temperature the fan stays off. As the room warms past it, the fan steps up from low to medium to high on its own. The LCD shows the set temperature, the room temperature and the battery level, so you always know what it's doing.
Down-light only
This remote dims the fan's down-light. If your fan has both an up-light and a down-light, it can't control them separately. Fans with a separate up-light need a remote and receiver made for up/down lights.
Before you order
- This is the Fan Timer version with no reverse key. If your old remote has a For/Rev key, order our reverse version instead.
- Campbell fans may need a matching receiver as well as the remote. Contact us before ordering for a Campbell fan.
Setup & Pairing
Here's how to match the new remote to the receiver in your fan.
- Switch the breaker for the fan off before you start.
- Slide off the battery cover on the new remote. The 4 DIP switches are inside the battery compartment.
- Note the switch pattern on your old remote; without it, read the receiver in the canopy.
- Match all four switches, add four AAA batteries and replace the cover.
- Turn the power back on and test the fan speeds and light.
Two fans in one room? Give each its own pattern.
In the box: TRC100L replacement remote with Fan Timer key, plus a wall bracket and 2 screws.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pair it with my fan?
Turn off power at the breaker, then set the 4 DIP switches inside the battery compartment to match your old remote or the receiver in the fan canopy. Put the batteries in, restore power and test.
How do I switch the display to Fahrenheit?
Press the small F/C button in the pin-hole on the back with a pen tip.
Will it work on my Windward III fan?
Not if your Windward III came with a remote that has a red or orange light button. This remote will not run the light on those fans, so check your old remote before ordering.
What does Light Delay do?
It turns the light off on its own 3 minutes after you press it.
Why does it take four batteries?
The LCD display and thermostat need extra power. Four AAA batteries cover it; they're not included.
When will my order ship?
In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.
What is your return policy?
You can return items within 90 days. Items must be unused and uninstalled, in their original packaging. No restocking fees. Please read our return policy before sending anything back. Questions? Call (816) 586-8457 or email info@fanremotes.com.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Every product we sell comes with a 1-year warranty against defects. If it fails because of a defect, contact us and we’ll send a replacement.
