The CHA52MBK5LR is a Harbor Breeze 52-in matte black fan with an LED light. If the remote is missing, you lose easy control over both. Our replacement brings back high, medium and low, an off button and a light key that taps on and holds to dim.

Running two fans from one remote

If you'd like two matching fans in one room to work together, one remote can be paired to both receivers. Power them up at the same time and run the pairing step, and both will learn it. For separate control, pair one fan at a time with the other switched off at the wall.

A remote-controlled fan needs power at the ceiling all the time. If someone flips the wall switch off, the remote has nothing to talk to and seems dead. Many owners put a small cover or a sticky note on that switch so everyone in the house knows to leave it up and use the remote instead.

Setup & Pairing

Pairing uses a learning code, so there's nothing to set inside the fan.

Insert a fresh 12V A23 into the new remote with the positive end facing the top, and put the battery door back.
Power the fan down at the switch or breaker, pause briefly, then power it back up.
Hold the 0 key for about 5 seconds within 30 seconds of power returning. Two blinks from the light confirm pairing.
Press each speed button in turn and toggle the light to confirm the pairing took.
Other fans on? Switch them off first, or they may start answering this remote as well.
