About the Hunter 99770 Remote

When the 99770 that came with your Hunter fan goes missing or quits, the fan is stuck on its last setting. Our replacement brings back four speeds and light dimming on a compatible receiver. The 99770 number is usually on a label on the back of the remote, or inside the battery compartment next to the battery. Compare the layout: a fan button, plus and minus keys for the four speeds, and a light button that dims.

We built this one for fans that shipped with the 99770. Syncing takes a minute at the wall switch.

Full-range dimming

The light control dims smoothly through its whole range on compatible receivers with dimmable bulbs. If you're using LEDs, pick bulbs marked dimmable and use the same type in every socket.

Fans it's not for

This remote isn't for Hunter Original fans or DC-motor fans, and it won't work with other brands' receivers. It's made for Hunter and Casablanca fans with a compatible receiver already in place.

Before you order

Not for Hunter Original fans or DC motor fans.
Pull-chain Casablanca fans need the 99199 receiver (sold separately) first.

Setup & Pairing

Stand near the wall switch with the remote ready.

Put two AAA batteries in the remote.
Switch the fan off at the wall or breaker, wait 10 seconds or more, and switch it back on.
Right away, press and hold the fan button until the fan or light reacts. If your manual names another button, use that one.
Try all four speeds and the dimmer.

Keep the remote in its wall cradle between uses.

In the box: 99770 replacement handheld remote, plus a wall cradle.

How do I pair it?

Put in two AAA batteries. Turn the fan's power off for at least 10 seconds and back on, then press and hold the fan button until the fan or light responds.

Are batteries included?

No. It takes two standard AAA batteries.

Will it work on a DC motor fan?

No. It is not for DC motor fans or Hunter Original fans.

My Casablanca fan uses pull chains. Will this work?

Not by itself. Pull-chain Casablanca fans need the 99199 receiver installed first.

How many speeds does it have?

Four. Use the fan button and the + and - keys to step through them.

When will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed by 4 PM, Monday to Friday, ship the same business day.
