About the Home Decorators Collection 59253 Remote

Bronze 59253 fans have a white color-changing LED light that switches between warm and cool tones. Without a remote, those settings are out of reach. This replacement gives back speeds, off, dimming and tone control.

This remote is for the Home Decorators Collection 59253. Look for 59253 on the motor housing sticker, then set the four code switches to match your fan's receiver.

Caring for the remote

Wipe the remote with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and skip sprays that can seep under the buttons. Keep it in the holder when not in use and away from pets that chew. If a button sticks, a cotton swab with a little rubbing alcohol around the edge usually frees it.

Color temperature on LED fans

On fans with a color-changing LED light, the color temperature button steps the light through its tones. The light starts at 3000K soft white. Press the button to move to the next setting, and keep pressing until you land on the tone you want for the room.

Receiver not included, so it won't add remote control to a fan that doesn't already have one.

Setup & Pairing

All you need is the new remote, an A23 battery and your old code.

Remove the rear cover of the remote and find the row of tiny switches near the battery slot.
Line up switches 1 to 4 with the code from your old remote, flipping each one until the two match exactly.
Set switch 5 to off if your light isn't dimmable, which stops flicker.
Insert one 12V A23 battery (sold separately), close the cover, then try each speed and the light button.
Code unknown? Set one pattern, press a button, and move on to the next until the fan reacts. There are 16 in all.
Running more than one of these fans? Give each fan and its remote a different code.

In the box: Replacement remote for the 59253 fan; wall mount holder; two mounting screws; programming manual. Add your own 12V A23 battery.

Can I set it up without my old remote?

Yes. Copy the switch pattern from the receiver in the fan canopy, which a very small screwdriver opens. If you can't reach it, try the 16 codes one at a time until the fan responds.

Do I need any tools?

Not for basic setup. A very small screwdriver helps if you read the code from the receiver, and a regular screwdriver mounts the wall holder.
