About the Honeywell 51473 Remote

Honeywell 51473 is the matte black Xerxes, a 62-inch fan. This replacement remote runs it on high, medium or low, stops it with a separate off button, and dims the light. You can pair it with the Learn button or with the High and Low method from the owner's manual.

We made this remote for the 51473, and it pairs with the receiver without tools. The whole job is a trip to the wall switch, a 5-second hold of Learn, and a quick test of each button. The High and Low method from the owner's manual works too.

Homes with several fans

If two fans of the same type are powered during pairing, both may learn the new remote. Switch off every fan except the one you're pairing, at the wall or the breaker. Pair each fan with its own remote, one at a time, and then restore power to the rest.

If pairing doesn't take

Most failed pairings come down to timing. Count the 30 seconds from the moment power comes back, and hold Learn for a full 5 seconds. Put in a new battery if the remote seems weak. If several careful tries fail, have the fan's receiver checked.

Before you order

No receiver is included. Your fan's original receiver needs to be working.

Setup & Pairing

Put one 12V A23 battery in the 51473 remote, matching the + and - marks.
Have other similar fans switched off at the wall before you begin.
Switch the fan off at its wall switch or breaker, wait a few seconds, and restore power.
Inside 30 seconds of power returning, keep the Learn button pressed for about 5 seconds.
The fan starts on low with the light off once it has learned the remote. If not, cycle the power and repeat.
Some manuals use High plus Low instead: hold both for 5 seconds within 30 seconds of power returning.

Tip: pair with the remote in the same room as the fan, and keep the battery door open until you've pressed Learn.

Can I pair it again later?

Yes, any time. Just repeat the power cycle and the Learn button steps.

Is a battery in the box?

No. You'll need one 12V A23 battery, and the + and - ends should match the marks in the compartment.
