This remote runs on one 12V A23 battery, a small cylinder that's shorter and thinner than an AA. It's sometimes labeled 23A. Hardware stores, grocery stores and pharmacies usually stock them. It isn't included, so pick one up before your remote arrives.

Where to find your fan's model number

Harbor Breeze prints the model number on a label on top of the motor housing, and it's also on the fan's box and the cover of the manual. From a ladder you can usually read the motor label with a flashlight. Snap a photo of it so you have it the next time you need a part.

Setup & Pairing

No DIP switches here, just a quick power cycle.

Put a new A23 battery in the remote, matching the + mark.
Cut power to the Harbor Breeze 43008 for roughly 10 seconds at the switch or breaker and turn it back on.
Before 30 seconds pass, press LEARN inside the battery compartment with a pen tip.
The fan or light responds to confirm pairing. If not, repeat the power cycle and press LEARN again within 30 seconds.
Try all three speeds, the light and dimming, then hang the wall holder.
