About the Harbor Breeze 1117039 Receiver
Item 1117039 is how Lowe's lists this Harbor Breeze ceiling fan on receipts and boxes. A dead remote with a good battery usually points to the receiver, not the fan. One wire-in swap gets the remote working again for speeds and the light.
Confirm item 1117039 on your paperwork or box label before you order. Most people finish the swap in under an hour.
- Pairs with TR214-series learning remotes
- 3 fan speeds plus off
- Simple wire-nut hookup
- Restores remote control without replacing the fan
More than one fan in the house
Learning receivers listen for a remote whenever power returns, so a second fan on at the same time can pair too. Switch off the breakers or wall switches for other nearby fans before you pair. When you are done, label each remote by room so they never get swapped.
Test before you finish
Before the last canopy screw goes in, run each speed for a moment, turn the light on and off and try dimming. Fixing a loose connection is much easier now than after everything is buttoned up. Then secure the canopy and enjoy the fan.
Before you order
- This receiver uses wire-nut leads. If your old one connects through a square plug, contact us first.
Setup & Pairing
- Cut power at the breaker panel, not just the wall switch.
- Drop the canopy, unscrew the wire nuts on the old receiver and note each connection.
- Join each lead of the new receiver to the matching wire with a wire nut, copying the old hookup.
- Turn off power to any other nearby fans with learning receivers so they do not pair at the same time.
- With the remote ready, turn the power on and hold 0 (fan off) within about 30 seconds until you see the light blink twice.
- Cycle through the speeds and the light to confirm everything responds.
Tip: leave the wall switch on, since the receiver needs power to work.
