Model TG44OSB3D1RC is a Beach Creek 44-in fan. Remotes for smaller fans in bedrooms and offices get knocked off nightstands and stepped on. If yours finally gave up, this replacement brings back full control of speed and light.

Battery changes and pairing

Swapping the battery doesn't normally undo pairing, because the fan's receiver has already learned the remote's code. If the fan stops responding after a battery change, first check that the new battery is seated the right way round. If it still won't answer, run the pairing steps again; it takes about a minute.

No aiming needed

This is a radio remote, not an infrared one, so you don't need to point it at the fan. It works from the couch, the bed or the doorway. If it suddenly only works when you stand right under the fan, a weak battery is the usual cause, so try a fresh A23 before anything else.

Before you order

Plan on a 12V A23 battery, since one isn't included.
If no remote works after pairing, the receiver may have failed, and you'll need a receiver or a remote and receiver kit instead.

Setup & Pairing

Slide the battery door open, fit a 12V A23 with the positive end at the top, then snap the door shut.
To keep other fans from learning it, leave them powered off at the wall until pairing is done.
Turn the power to the fan off, then on, using the wall switch or the circuit breaker.
Before 30 seconds pass, press and keep holding 0 for around 5 seconds until the light flashes twice.
Try each speed, then tap and hold the light button to check on, off and dimming.

In the box: TG44OSB3D1RC replacement remote with a wall holder. You'll need one 12V A23 battery, not included.

Probably not if every speed works. The remote is clearly reaching the receiver, so the light kit is the likely issue.

How long does setup take?

About a minute, and most of that is the walk to the wall switch. Power off, power on, hold 0 for about 5 seconds and watch for two blinks.

My new remote also runs my other fan. How do I stop that?

These receivers learn any remote that sends a pairing signal while they're powered up. Switch the other fan off at the wall, pair this one again, then turn the other fan back on.
